Capital Call (Drawdown)

A capital call is the GP's request that LPs wire in a portion of their committed capital, made only when the fund needs money for an investment or expenses. LPs do not fund their full commitment upfront; instead capital is drawn over the investment period. Failing to meet a call can trigger steep penalties under the LPA.
